Types of Moroccan Tents
With 5 years experience of building tents for our tented Camp Adounia, testing these tents in hostile weather and working with the nomads in the Sahara Desert of Morocco; we are now producing and selling these tried and tested Moroccan Tents Internationally.
What Moroccan tents are available to order?
We have 5 main tent models available, but we are happy to make bespoke tents to your request as most Moroccan tents are made to order. We also work with a tent maker to the main movies filmed in Morocco so special requests and large event or festival tents are also possible.

MT01
Moroccan Wedding Tents | Moroccan square tents or rectangular tents with central poles | Ideal as yoga tents & event tents
These traditional Moroccan tents are made with 3 skins of material: heavy duty canvas, acrylic blackout fabric, and a choice of Moroccan lining motifs on the interiors or plain cream cotton. The exterior canvas can be made with black traditional Moroccan wedding tent motif or plain cream canvas (please see the gallery). These pole tents pack smaller and are quick to erect, and putting up and down for festivals or special events.
With these tents, the roof and the sides are delivered as 2 separate pieces. When pitching the texts, the roof is put up with the 2 vertical poles in place, once this is anchored to the ground, the sides or tent “walls” unravel and are laced to the roof. The smaller external side poles come inserted into the exterior “wall” lining. We also give the option for the tent walls to be 4 separate pieces, so that each section of can be removed or tied up separately for airflow, aesthetics or easy access.
All tents come with natural handmade ropes for pitching and silver balls to go on top of tent poles.
Sizing:
Normally 60m square in size, 12m x 5m.
Also available in 6x3m or 8x4m.
The support is 2 large central tent poles, attaching to 2 beam poles.
Smaller 1.5m poles around the walls for support.
Larger sizes are available on request.
Smaller sizes with single pole can be made.
Due to shipping costs or large items, we give the options to ship tents without the metal steaks that go in the ground and tent poles, which can be sourced locally instead.
MT03
Full frame square tents or rectangular Moroccan tents
Custom sizing available. Heavy canvas with reinforced seam straps in cream (waterproof canvas), with or without black Moroccan motif and a selection of plain or Moroccan linings. These come with a full metal frame.
MT04
Round tents. Heavy cream canvas with a single pole in the middle
Available with or without black Moroccan motif and a selection of linings. They can be made in any side and also with a toilet partition.
MT02
Black camel or goat hair bedouin tents (called bivouac tents or nomad tents)
These are erected with twin middle poles crossing over which connect with a harar support (banana shaped piece of wood at the top). Depending on size, the nomad tents may have several of these. Please specify if a lining is needed. These can be 3 layers of goat skin or camel skin with a plastic lining and an interior lining. These tents naturally breath and dry out quickly as they are naturally woven by Saharawi women for this purpose. The natural tent's colour is black, over time this fades to dark brown.
